There are around 2,250 houseboats in Amsterdam (and one especially for cats—the Poezenboot [Cat Boat] asylum that floats opposite Singel 38). This converted 1914-built sailing vessel, the Hendrika Maria, provides a glimpse into this unique lifestyle.
